As discussions continue about whether President Donald Trump will sit down for an interview with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team, FBI investigators have yet to request an interview with Vice President Mike Pence, a person familiar with the situation told NBC News.
That debate spilled into the open last week, when lawyers for Paul Manafort filed a lawsuit in US federal court directly challenging Mr. Mueller's legal authority to investigate and indict the former Trump campaign manager on pre-2016 money laundering charges.
Separately, Representative Adam Schiff, the panel's top Democrat, told reporters on Thursday he would like "dozens" more witnesses, including Bannon, to appear before the committee, making clear he does not view the panel's investigation of Russian Federation and the election as near its end.
Trump said "we'll see what happens" when asked if he'd provide an interview to Mueller's team.
"When you talk about interviews, Hillary Clinton had an interview where she wasn't sworn in, she wasn't given the oath, they didn't take notes, they didn't record and it was done on the Fourth of July weekend", Mr Trump said.
United States President Donald Trump has termed Russian collusion during 2016 presidential elections as the greatest witch-hunt in American history. More alarmingly, Republicans in Congress are joining Trump and conservative media outlets in brutal attacks on the integrity of the FBI and the USA intelligence community, which are conducting the investigation.
"Make it stop" was the message that Trump gave to then-FBI Director James Comey, when he demanded Comey's personal loyalty and pressured Comey to drop his investigation into National Security Adviser Mike Flynn.

Once again on Wednesday Trump did not criticise Russia's President Vladimir Putin directly, but he did contend that he is not pursuing policies calculated to please the Kremlin.
"It's a Democrat hoax that was brought up as an excuse for losing an election", Trump commented, adding: "I'll speak to attorneys".
Flynn is now one of four former Trump campaign officials to face charges by Mueller.
WaPo again: "Of the three congressional panels investigating the president and Russian Federation, only the Senate Intelligence Committee appears to have maintained bipartisan calm". "With that being said, I have personally directed the fix to the unmasking process since taking office and today's vote is about foreign surveillance of foreign bad guys on foreign land".
Bannon was also the recipient of an email Donald Trump Jr. sent to a group of senior Trump campaign officials notifying them that WikiLeaks had reached out, according to The Atlantic.
Feinstein also sits on the Senate intelligence committee, which is conducting its own investigation into the Russian interference and whether Trump's campaign was in any way involved.
