Alexa will be in Your New Toyota, Lexus Car by 2019

Vuzix Making Alexa-Enabled Smart Glasses, to Debut at CES 2018

You'll soon be able to use augmented reality smart glasses to talk to Alexa

Amazon's voice-activated home assistant Amazon Alexa is making its way to a number of laptop and desktop models, challenging Microsoft's own PC assistant Cortana on her own operating system. Although the concept sounds like the future of driving technology, cars will not be able to use voice assistants for an entirely autonomous driving experience.

Toyota is the latest in a swarm of companies at CES 2018 adding Amazon's voice assistant to their products.

AR hardware company Vuzix designed a pair of smart sunglasses that are compatible with Amazon's Alexa.

A number of carmakers have introduced Amazon Alexa voice commands that can activate the locks and climate control on their cars, but Toyota is going a step further with Alexa integration by bringing Alexa into the vehicle. A motorist can ask Alexa to play music, order a cup of coffee from a nearby Starbuck's, or operate various home automation devices, turning up the thermostat or turning on the lights at home, for example.

"We have all seen how Alexa has transformed interaction in homes, but in today's world, we are constantly on the go".

Soon the voice assistant Amazon Alexa will appear on thousands of computers under control of operating system Windows 10.

For Alexa integration, Klipsch is employing Amazon's Connected Speaker APIs to enable you to control its speakers with commands spoken to any device equipped with the virtual assistant - like the Echo or Echo Dot.

"Downstream benefits like e-commerce" could eventually become a substantial source of revenue, acknowledged Scumniotales, especially when autonomous and fully driverless vehicles become part of everyday reality.
