These are all the announcements from Nintendo Direct Mini 2018. Though it wasn't quite the spectacle I thought it might be, they did deliver on the hype-worthy news. There were several nuggets of information dropped during this presentation, one of which was that PayDay 2 would be landing on the Nintendo Switch in a little over a month.
The game comes from Camelot, the longtime developer behind the Mario Tennis franchise. A 2nd wave includes Blastoise, Mew, and Celebi.
Wave 1 releases January 31st and will add Aegislash as a playable fighter along with Mimikyu and Mega Rayquaza as supports. There is the new "Artist" ability that lets you paint your own smackdowns and there's the "Spider" ability that lets you ensnare enemies. Players will be able to mix some abilities while playing with friends in co-op. It's going to get hectic.
"Nintendo Switch is the fastest-selling home console in history, and Nintendo is not taking our foot off the gas in 2018", said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement.
A definitive Hyrule Warriors Ultimate Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch that will have all of the DLC content from both the 3DS and Wii U releases, containing every map, mission, and character.
I personally am looking forward to playing action JPRG Ys VIII, the handsome and musical Fe, and mega-hard pixelly platformer Celeste, which has been given a few easier modes for people who don't want bite marks on their controllers.
The game adds a new story mode where you can fight bosses. Find Hyrule Warriors for the Nintendo Switch this Spring.
My personal favourite addition is a new Mario tennis game called "Mario Tennis Aces". The update is coming in February. The Switch is also getting a port of the action RPG Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana this summer, which came out on the PlayStation Vita in 2016. PS4 in particular has had a surge in sales this week, which is normal considering that the first week of the year is traditionally favorable to PlayStation platforms, as their audience is usually people who use the money they receive in the new year in purchasing the consoles or content related. While it's previously been released for PS4 and Xbox One, this will be your first chance to play it on the go. If you hide it, you have 30 seconds to find the best hiding spot in hopes of giving other players a hassle. This near challenge offers a bit of competition in the Marioverse. The update being released in February will also add three new outfits to the game - a Super Mario Sunshine-inspired outfit, a musician outfit, and a knight armor.
This Nintendo DS cult classic gets a makeover for the Nintendo Switch.
It's a ladies-only affair with SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. You can customize your favorite characters as you see fit in this stunning fighting game.
PayDay 2 will cost $49.99 Dollars when it hits the Nintendo Switch on February 28.
Andrew is IGN's executive editor of news and would love to play a Pokemon tennis game.
The platforming, open-world adventure, Fe, is coming to the hybrid console. Players will be able to sing across a handsome expanse on February 16.
The DK Crew will make their debut on the Switch with the release of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on May 4 2018. The port will also have local co-op, which can be done with the joy-cons. Not since the days of the Game Boy Advance has Nintendo done this.
It's finally been announced.
