"Two terrorists neutralized in Zachaldara Handwara in North Kashmir in a joint operation of Jammu and Kashmir police, Army and CRPF. We have not yet ascertained the identity of the deceased", the SDPO said. Reports say that the attack was carried out by the terrorists in Zachaldara region.

Earlier on November 10, terrorists opened fire on a police vehicle in Kulgam's Qazigund of Jammu and Kashmir.

"At both these places, searches are going on".

Police sources said Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Mehmood Bhai and his men are active in Hajin area of Bandipora districts.

Additional security forces were rushed to cordon the area to foil any attempt by militants to escape.

No one was injured in the attack. In a separate case in south Kashmir's Shopian district, militants assaulted a Congress worker.

The militants kick Gulzar, who is half naked, and force him to take a "pledge" that he would not work with the mainstream parties in future.
