Rohini Court firing: Undertrial prisoner Vinod alias Balle shot dead

This is another case of firing in a Delhi court up to the last 2-years, where A man has been killed following a firing got the spot in a wide daylight inside the proofs of Rohini Court on Monday. Police suspect the killing to be a result of a rivalry , As Reported By TOI. While he was being taken back, he was shot at by an assailant at 11.20 am. The killer, Abdul Khan, was overpowered and arrested by the police.

Earlier, on April 29, a prisoner was shot dead in the premises of Rohini court when he was being produced in the court for a hearing.

The incident happened near the canteen area around 11 30 am, when the undertrial was accompanied back by the police, from the court.

The victim was produced by the staff of the Third Battalion in Rohini Court, said Rishi Pal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini). "Khan surrendered in front of the police and the weapon was seized", the DCP said. The court extended his custody for next 14 days.

Vinod was allegedly involved in a case of cheating (forged signature) which he had committed in 2010 and the case was registered at the South Rohini police station.

Though Vinod was rushed to a hospital, he was declared dead by doctors. "Abdul Khan also had no previous criminal record", said the officer.

Police said that the accused initially claimed to be a juvenile, but later it was found that he is 24 years old and has a wife and a child. "We are looking into all aspects regarding security of the court". A country-made gun used by Khan, a resident of Nangloi, was recovered, police said.

In-charge of police post at the court SI Narender has been placed under suspension, while Prashant Vihar SHO has been sent to district lines pending further inquiry.

Sources said that Khan might have been hired by the businessman who was duped by the deceased.
