2 Pakistani soldiers killed in Afghan border attack

Pakistan security forces killed at least eight to ten terrorists who launched cross-border attack at the check-posts of Pak Army in Bajaur Agency from Afghanistan, Inter Services Public Relations said.

"Terrorists from the Afghanistan side attempted an attack on Pakistani posts along the Pak-Afghan border in Bajaur Agency".

However, the statement stated that the forces effectively responded to the attack and killed 10 fleeing terrorist and wounded several others.

During exchange of fire, courageous sons of soil Captain Junaid Hafeez and Sepoy Raham embraced shahdat while another four soldiers got injuries.

Pakistan defends its border security plan, saying anti-state militants after fleeing security operations have taken refuge in "ungoverned" Afghan areas and plotting cross-border terrorist attacks to destabilize the country. Pakistan won Gold medal for consecutive 3rd time while 4th time overall. The attack came a week after unidentified gunmen shot and killed a Pakistani diplomat near his residence in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad.

The DG ISPR asserted that Pakistan had done its part by clearing all areas, fencing, new posts, enhanced presence along the border and establishing crossing points.
