Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has returned to light training only two weeks after fracturing his ribs in a vehicle accident whilst on a break before the Citizens' clash with Chelsea at the beginning of October.
Aguero, 29, was injured when a taxi he was travelling in after attending a concert crashed into a lamp post.
City return to Champions League action at home to Napoli after the Stoke match, having won each of their first two Group F matches versus Feyenoord and Shakhtar Donetsk.
"Man City fans will be delighted to learn Sergio Aguero returned to training on Tuesday morning", a statement on the club's website read.
The Argentina striker resumed light training with City on Tuesday and showed no ill-effects during Wednesday's session, although the club's medical staff will not take a decision on his fitness and availability against Stoke until Friday. The former Atletico Madrid striker is only one goal away from equalling Eric Brook's all-time Manchester City goal tally of 177, and looks a dead cert to beat it when he returns to full fitness.
Fabian Delph has also returned to City training after being forced to withdraw from England's squad for their World Cup qualifiers.
