The madarsa authorities will also have to click photographs of their celebration of the Independence Day and send the same to the madarsa board office. The nation would be on high alert during the Independence Day celebrations. Also, students will sing songs on nationalism and be told about the freedom struggle and freedom fighters. A cultural program on national unity and sports events will follow then and the program will end with sweet distribution. The entire function has to be videographed.
The Madhya Pradesh Madarsa Board has ordered over 5000 madrasas or Islamic seminaries in the state to compulsorily organise a Tiranga (Tricolor) rally to celebrate Independence Day and email it the photographs of the celebrations.
There are around 8,000 madrasas in the state that are recognised by the parishad.
Along with the circular, the UP Madarsa Education Board has also sent text of National Anthem in both Hindi and Urdu.
The Uttar Pradesh Madarsa Shiksha Parishad (MSP) has directed all madarsas affiliated to it to unfurl the national flag and recite the national anthem on August 15.
Official sources in Minority Welfare department said that directives for hoisting National Flag and reciting National Anthem have been issued to madrasas earlier as well.
The state government has also warned the madrasas that if the directives aren't followed, the state will then withdraw government aid to these institutions.
"I am not aware of the past, but ever since I took over, this has been the practice, " board chairman Prof Syed Imad Uddin, who was appointed in February 2016, told The Indian Express.
"Videography will be done so that videos of the best programmes could be played in madrasas and students could take inspiration from them..."
