Trinamool Congress on Friday questioned the government over the recent terror attack on Amarnath pilgrims in Kashmir and said there was a "failure" on its part when it was "aware" about the security problem. Touseef Ahmad was nabbed by police for questioning.
Seven pilgrims were killed and 21 injured in the attack on bus of pilgrims near Batengoo in Anantnag on Monday. He was deputed as driver with the PDP MLA Aijaz Ahmad Mir some seven months ago from security wing of Jammu and Kashmir police, reported Greater Kashmir.
Apart from the PDP legislator's driver, two other locals have also been arrested for their alleged involvement in the said terror attack, said sources.
The six-member SIT constituted by the J&K police to probe the terror attack has arrested him on Friday suspecting him to be over ground worker for militants directly involved in the terror attack against the Amarnath pilgrims.
"Wait for some days and truth will come forward and will update you accordingly", officer told India Blooms.
Jammu and Kashmir's Inspector General of Police Muneer Khan had earlier said Pakistani terrorist Abu Ismail masterminded the plot to eliminate Amarnath Yatra pilgrims.
