When Han met Chewie: Leaked photos from the set of upcoming Star Wars spin-off show the iconic duo back together again

Despite the change-up in leadership, Han Solo star Woody Harrelson assures fans the film is on the right track.

This is also the first photo we've seen of Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca in the spinoff, who's taken over the role now from original actor Peter Mayhew.

With Howard directing, the Han Solo movie is scheduled for a May 25, 2018 release date. Each new release from Lucasfilm is already met with anticipation, but the production of Han Solo has had an unexpected wrinkle added.

Following the much-talked about shift in director from Phil Lord and Chris Miller to Ron Howard on the Untitled Han Solo Movie, many have wondered whether or not the film might be in trouble. Specific plot points are still unknown as is the title, but we should hopefully find out this weekend at Disney's D23 expo since it has been confirmed that Han Solo will not be at the San Diego Comic-Con this year.

What are you most looking forward to in the Han Solo movie?

The Han Solo film is the second of three stand-alone "Star Wars" films that kicked off with last year's 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'. The film is said to show how Han Solo and Chewbacca, first met Lando Calrissian, played by Glover.

Filming began in January 2017 under the direction of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, with principal photography starting the following month at Pinewood Studios. Ron Howard has since been officially tapped to replace them.

The still untitled Han Solo is now scheduled to be released on May 25, 2018.
