Kajol plays the antagonist, making her comeback to Tamil cinema after almost two decades. On Sunday, the makers have released the trailer of Velai Illa Pattathari 2, which is now trending on several social media platforms.
While the first part ended with Raghuvaran (Dhanush) becoming a successful civil engineer, VIP 2 will take the story forward from where VIP ended. After the huge success of VIP 1 at Kollywood and Tollywood, the production team has made a decision to release the film in Bollywood naming the title as (Lalkar).
Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Dhanush and Kajol". The trailer introduces us to the same Raghavan, a jobless graduate and looks like the extension of the character narrated by Dhanush in the movie.
Predictably, the trailer has Dhanush delivering punch dialogues to put Kajol in her place, including a line where he calls her "Amul Baby" condescendingly. "I should also thank Soundarya, VIP 2 is indeed a big film", said Sean Roldan, the composer also lauded Anirudh for his unbelievable music in the first part and said that composing for the sequel was super challenging.
"Both the actors have a huge fan base in the North, so we thought of leveraging it thereby keeping a more relatable and easy name for the audience", said Soundarya. In 'VIP 2', Kajol and Dhanush have been cast directed by Soundarya, daughter of megastar Rajinikanth and Dhanush's sister-in-law. Kajol plays the role of a suave businesswoman, Vasundhara in the film.
